Profile

Sofia Ponte is an artist and researcher with a Master of Science in Visual Studies at MIT. Her work explores the design of daydreaming devices for the public realm sustained by the concept of “daydreaming in public.” These devices fill temporary physical and emotional needs in public areas and are designed to contribute to a more intimate and creative questioning of the public space in urban landscapes. She is currently teaching as a Guest Lecture at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, Portugal, where she is also a PhD candidate in the Art & Design Graduate Program.
