4.341 Introduction to Photography and Related Media

Practical instruction in fundamentals of analog and digital SLR and medium format camera operation, film exposure and development, black and white darkroom techniques, digital imaging, and studio lighting. Individual projects developed throughout the semester provide opportunities to develop technical skills and personal artistic vision. Work presented and discussed in a critical forum. Lectures, readings, and site visits encourage critical exploration, aesthetic appreciation, and critical awareness of how images produced and constructed. Production time outside class essential. Limited Enrollment.
