Course centered on student-initiated project developed throughout the semester. Explore photographic process as medium for artistic expression. Final projects presented in exhibition format. Practical instruction in fundamentals
of analog and digital SLR and medium/ large format camera operation, film exposure and development, black and white darkroom techniques, digital imaging, and studio lighting. Student work presented and discussed in a critical forum. Lectures, readings, discussions, and field trip to New York, encourage aesthetic appreciation and critical awareness of how images are produced and constructed. Production time outside class essential. Beginning and advanced students welcome. Limited enrollment.
