Ursula August is a South African artist whose work looks at systems of translation and identity.  She studied television and film at the Durban University of Technology, South Africa (2005), received her BA in Journalism from Emerson College, USA (2008), and is currently a candidate for the MS in the Art, Culture, and Technology program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2016). Ursula approaches her work through intense research and laborious methodologies, questioning the utility and pragmatics of networks, systems, and stations, revealing paradoxes and reimagining sites as territories for unsettling.
