Floor van de Velde won third place in MIT’s Harold and Arlene Schnitzer Prize in the Visual Arts. The award was accompanied by an exhibit that opened on May 30 at 4pm in the Wiesner Student Art Gallery at MIT.

Floor van de Velde is a Belgian born, South African cross-disciplinary artist and musician. As a ceaseless experimenter in sonic art, sculpture, electronics, and photography, she gravitates towards precision-oriented, systematic, and reductionist approaches to art-making.
