Open House wins the Architizer A+ Award for Architecture and Urban Transformation

Open House, a recent public art project by artist and alum Matthew Mazzotta, has been selected as the jury’s choice for the Architizer A+ Award for Architecture and Urban Transformation. A highly esteemed jury of over 300 industry leaders including Joseph Altuzarra; Paola Antonelli, curator at the Museum of Modern Art; Yves Béhar; Liz Diller of Diller, Scofidio and Renfro; Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects; Rem D. Koolhaas; David Rockwell; and Ian Schrager selected the Jury Winners. Mazzotta will be honored along with other winners at the Architizer A+ Awards Gala at Highline Stages in New York City on Thursday, May 15th.

Mazzotta’s Open House has won several other awards since its innauguration including a Great Places Award for Place Design by the Environmental Design Research Association, the Architect’s Newspaper Best of Design Award, the Santo Foundation’s Individual Artist Award, and is a currently a finalist for Azure magazine’s AZ Awards – International Award of Design Excellence.
