Profile

Gedney Barclay is an artist with a background in theater and performance, whose process is grounded in lengthy periods of research and improvisations with the body and voice. She works between video, photography, and theater to study why, when, and how physical experiences are broken down, described, and refigured, always looking for what gets added or omitted along the way. In addition to being a recipient of the CEC Artslink Award, she has worked as an artist in residence with l’Associazone Culturale Orma Fluens in Italy, Joshua Tree National Park in California, and the Andrei Tarkovsky Festival of Sacred Arts in France.
