Profile

Ian Wojtowicz works with modifications to public space. He creates gestures critical of technological progress using new media, illustration, photography, and storytelling as necessary irritants to transform the status quo. Themes of contemporary realism, historical dissonance, editing and repair run through his projects. Wojtowicz has shown work at ISEA, Flux Factory, Carnegie Museum of Art, Museum of Vancouver, British Computer Society, The New School, California College of the Arts, and Harvard and has spoken in front of audiences of over eleven hundred people. He has also worked on projects nominated for Emmy and Webby Awards, featured in Wired Magazine, Atlantic, TED and a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign.
