Media Assistant 2009 - 2012

Chris has worked at the intersection of art and technology for over 15 years. Along the way he has made films with director David Gordon Green, helped pioneer the laptop as a music instrument with the Vienna based Mego gang, developed and toured with a first of its kind networked computer video system for the band Tortoise, and crafted some large scale interactive high-definition video installations for Lincoln Schatz. He has had the pleasure of working with musical luminaries like improvisational innovator Derek Bailey, computer music wunderkind Florian Hecker, the almost indescribable phenomenon Nobikazu Takemura, percussion wizard Johnny Herndon, and blood+guts noise maverick Kevin Drumm. Chris has a degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he also worked and taught for five years in the Performance program under Werner Herterich and Lin Hixson. He has also contributed to the development of the audio and video software PureData and GEM.
