Rob La Frenais: Future of Transport/Transport of the Future

Dr. Rob La Frenais is a contemporary art curator and critic focusing on interdisciplinary projects that bridge art and science. Throughout his career, La Frenais worked closely with artists such as James Turrell, Marina Abramović, Isaac Julien, Cornelia Parker, Mona Hatoum, Stelarc, Steve Kurtz, Aleksandra Mir, Ashok Sukumaran, Marko Peljhan, and Tomas Saraceno among many others. He has recently lectured and chaired panels at the São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound; Tate Britain; Centre Pompidou; The Exploratorium, San Francisco; Laboratorio El Almeida, Mexico City; Edinburgh University; Nottingham Contemporary; and the International Symposium on Electronic Art, Sydney. His most recent exhibition with London based arts organization The Arts Catalyst, Republic of the Moon, opened this year in Liverpool and is now touring internationally. Rob La Frenais completed a curatorial practice-based Ph.D. at Brunel University and is the recipient of an honorary Doctorate from Dartington College of Art.
