ACT at MIT

What has happened now? Another year of hard work and *something* is done at ACT [ART, CULTURE and TECHNOLOGY, a studio and research program at MIT].

We would like to SHARE the results with you next Tuesday and Wednesday, May 27-28, in a show and series of screenings and talks at the wonderful ACT Cube in the Wiesner Building (E15).

Works and presentations by Leigh Christie, Adi Hollander, Anne Macmillan, Ryan Kuo, Soyoung Kwon, Ian Soroka, and Floor van de Velde.

Visiting us to deliver a keynote talk will be Dr. Vesna Madzoski, an author, critic, and graduate of the European Graduate School. She will be discussing her new book De Cvratoribvs: The Dialectics of Care and Confinement (Atropos, 2013).

The rest of the two-day program will consist of artworks and screenings related to said artworks and ongoing practices. These will INCLUDE: experimental videos, sound and light installations, tragicomedic performances, speculative engineering, strange videogame assaults, and more, covering THEMES such as “following the brush,” spiritual traveling, personalized energy, banal analyses, geopolitical triangulation, and getting sucked into a vortex.

Free and open to the public! Bring your friends and enemies!
