Nomeda & Gediminas Urbonas. Devices for Action

Devices for Action
ACT at MIT

Imagine for a moment what happens when an entire population that migrates suddenly without leaving the site, because the political, economic, social and symbolic that has ruled the country in question for several generations change, to put so, from night to day. Geography and place names remain the same for long. The human landscape are beginning to evolve. Nomeda and Gediminas Urbonas have focused their work to understand and to understand the layers of meaning that were based on the psychological effects on society without this migration journey. In the last eight years projects such Transaction , Ruta Remake , Druzba , Pro-test Lab and Lithuania Villa have revealed a variety of platforms and media with which artists have organized their work. These structures can remain infinitely open, with material items that do not allow them to function as devices for action.
