Janine Randerson

Profile

Janine Randerson (she/her) is a media artist, writer, and curator. She often makes, writes or facilitates creative works in collaboration with community groups, tangata whenua (Indigenous New Zealanders), and environmental scientists from urban meteorologists to glaciologists. Since 2022 she has been engaged as a curator for the contemporary art space Te Tuhi (Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland) on events, performances and artworks to foreground the changing climate for the World Weather Network. She is also a host of LASER talks or Leonardo Art-Science Evening Rendezvous. Janine’s book “Weather as Medium: Toward a Meteorological Art” (MIT Press, 2018) focuses on modern and contemporary art that engage with our present and future weathers. She is an Associate Professor at AUT University, Aotearoa New Zealand.
