Scott Tirrell (he/him) serves as the Administrative Officer for the Art, Culture, and Technology program at MIT (ACT). He is the chief financial and administrative officer overseeing the program’s financial, human resources, and operations aspects. Before ACT, Scott spent almost a decade as MIT’s Director of Graduate Fellowships in the Office of Graduate Education (OGE). He also helped build a university from scratch in Singapore as part of the MIT-Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Collaboration Office, worked with the China Management Education Project at MIT Sloan, and lived and taught English in China. He holds a BA in Psychology (with a minor in Asian history) and an MA in Intercultural Relations. Outside MIT, Scott loves to write and has published four works of largely speculative fiction, with more coming soon. He also enjoys painting, playing the drums, building things, and traveling.
