Manned Helium Sculpture

Manned helium sculpture; 800 feet of 26 inch diameter transparent polyethylene tubing in seven loops, inflated with approximately 4000 cubic feet of helium, attached with ropes and parachute harness to 95 pound girl for her 30-minute ascent into the air, controlled from the ground by ropes attached to the helium-filled loops and to the girl's harness; performed with 20 KW arc lights, January 5, 1969, 4 to 8 p.m., in the parking lot of WGBH-TV, Boston, as part of Piene's 10-minute videotape, "Electronic Light Ballet," for the Public Broadcast Laboratory program, "The Medium is the Medium," broadcast in the spring of 1969 on NET-TV
