Krzysztof Wodiczko – CAVS Director 1994-1996, 2004-2009
Founder or the Interrogative Design Workshop, Wodiczko’s work combines art and technology as a critical design practice, to address war, conflict, trauma, and memory. His work frequently highlights marginalized communities in pieces like the Homeless Projection and War Veteran Vehicle.
Equipping an out of commission military vehicle with speakers and a projector, Wodiczko broadcasts the testimony of homeless veterans while projecting their images onto a building. (The original instalation at the 2008 DNC in Denver projected the images onto an armory turned homeless shelter.)
